Beacon Boxx detects emergencies by monitoring real-time health data from wearables like Apple Watch, Fitbit, and Samsung Watch. It analyzes for negative trends, including Heart Rate, O2, Heart Rate Variability, Afib, Fall Alerts, and Movement data.

Depending on your wearable device, the Beacon Boxx app is constantly collecting and analyzing 16 to 20 distinct datasets related to cardiovascular health, pulmonary health, movement, sleep, and activity. 

This data is then ingested into our proprietary AI-powered algorithm to identify negative trends that are indicative of an active health event, or the potential for one to occur. If an event is detected, the model will run a “false positive” validation before sending you a notification about the potential event. 

If the notification is not acknowledged, Beacon Boxx automatically alerts your emergency contacts and first responders via SMS and AI-assisted chatbot to ensure help is one the way. Once first responders arrive, they will have detailed directions to locate and access your home either via Beacon Boxx, or by some other means that you will have specified at the time of profile setup. As the user, you can cancel the alarm at any point during the process and a cancellation message will immediately be sent to your contacts and EMS.

No, we do not force you to purchase our hardware in order to use the Beacon Boxx lifesaving app. However, we do recommend that before using the application, it is wise to have a reliable access point from which first responders can easily, and securely, enter your home. These details can be input during your profile setup. So, don’t wait, download the app today!

As of November 2024, the Beacon Boxx camera is only capable of taking still photos. Each time a PIN is entered into the LCD keypad, and/or the lockbox is opened, the camera will take a photo of the person opening the box. This picture is then stored on the server for 30- days in case retrieval is required. There are many apartments, condos, and HOA’s that do not allow streaming cameras to be placed outside of the home towards common areas. So, we decided to start with the simplest solution. In the future, we will offer the full streaming capabilities common to other doorbell camera systems.

We highly recommend the Apple Watch SE or Apple Watch Ultra. However, the Apple watch SE is the best beginner device while Apple Watch Ultra is built for highly active, sports-minded users. Additionally, the Ultra has superior battery-life resulting in less frequent device charging. You can buy these on Amazon or at your local Apple electronics retailer (Apple Store or Best Buy).

Great question! While Bluetooth technology is very mature and highly advanced, there are still many limitations with this technology in relation to its ability to pass through solid structures. We highly recommend purchasing a smartwatch 4G/5G LTE plan from your mobile provider to ensure you are always able to send messages and data during emergencies. We recommend this even if you do not choose to use Beacon Boxx as you never know when you will need to alert help from your smartwatch device directly.

The short answer is “no”, neither Apple nor Android enabled devices provide this level of detection and prediction for emergency health events. Additionally, there is no platform in existence today that combines detection, prediction, alerting, and access all into a single homogenous platform.

No, it would be very difficult for the Beacon Boxx system to accidentally alert my emergency contacts and EMS as there are multiple fail-safes built into the algorithm as well as manual notifications to you, the user, in the event of an emergency. At many points along the process there are opportunities to circumvent and altogether prevent any accidental notifications.

Yes, Beacon Boxx hardware is locksmith tested, locksmith approved. It is built from only the strongest quality metals. We have also built numerous safety features into the Beacon Boxx itself to ensure that if would-be thieves attempt to steal your Beacon Boxx, they will be located by the police quickly through hardware enabled GPS.

Beacon Boxx hardware uses custom, rechargeable battery packs capable of maintaining charge for up to 6-months depending on usage.  In order to recharge the Beacon Boxx, you will need to remove the device from the mounting bracket and plug it into an available USB-C (included with the Beacon Boxx). The device takes roughly 3 hours to recharge fully.
